Internal Medicine
The author treated 46 cases of dizziness according to differentiation of stagnation and got satisfied effect.

Treatment according to differentiation: qi obstruction and blood stagnation (4 cases), the symptoms including dizziness sometimes severe and sometimes slight, depressive sensation, indistinct pain on hypochondrium, fullness sensation on chest and epigastric region that will be better after rest, and will be worse after emotional change. Dark red tongue with thin white coating, taut pulse or uneven pulse. Treatment principle: smoothing the liver and relieving depression, regulating qi and promoting circulation of blood. Prescription: Chai Hu, Bai Shao Yao, Chi Shao Yao, Zhi Shi, Xiang Fu, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Dan Shen, Shuang Gou Teng, Gan Cao.

Qi stasis and blood stagnation (7 cases), the symptoms including dizziness, headache in fixed place, poor spirit, insomnia and poor memory. It is easily occurred after traumatic injury. There is petechia or purple petechia on tongue with thin and white tongue coating, taut pulse or taut-thready pulse. Treatment principle: moving qi, promoting circulation of blood, dissolving stagnation, benefiting meridian. Prescription: Tao Ren, Chi Shao Yao, Xiang Fu, Chuan Xiong, Bai Zhi, Tian Ma, Shuang Gou Teng, Hong Hua, Gan Cao.

Phlegm obstruction (12 cases): the symptoms including dizziness, fatigue, tight and heavy sensation of head, saliva. It is generally seen on prolonged disease and adiposity. Dark purple tongue with thin white or thin yellow coating, taut-rolling or uneven pulse.  Treatment principle: promoting circulation of blood, relieving stagnation, resolving phlegm, benefiting meridian. Prescription: Tao Ren, Chi Shao Yao, Chuan Xiong, Ban Xia, Tian Ma, Shuang Gou Teng, Dan Shen, Fu Ling, Chen Pi, Tian Qi powder, Gan Cao.

Qi deficiency and blood stagnation (8 cases): the symptoms including dizziness that will come after overtired and be worse after moving. Fatigue, lazy speech, severe palpitation, shortness of breath, poor appetite, enlarged purple tongue with thin white coating, deep, thready and uneven pulse. Treatment principle: benefiting qi, promoting circulation of blood, resolving stagnation. Prescription: Huang Qi, Dang Shen, Bai Zhu, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Dan Shen, Chen Pi, Sheng Ma, Chai Hu, Gan Cao.

Kidney deficiency and blood stagnation (15 cases), the symptoms including dizziness, tinnitus, soreness sensation on lumbar region and knees, lustreless complexion, lassitude, purplish tongue with petechia, thin white coating, deep, thready and uneven pulse. Treatment principle: reinforcing the kidney to replenish marrow, promoting circulation of blood, resolving phlegm. Prescription: Shu Di Huang, Shou Wu, Dang Shen, Gui Ban, Dan Shen, Du Zhong, Gou Qi, Shuang Gou Teng, Dang Gui, Tao Ren, Hong Hua.

Treatment result: total effective rate is 95.7%.

Experience: we can audaciously use the herbs of promoting circulation of blood and resolving stagnation if differentiation is dizziness due to blood stagnation, we can not use herbs to promote circulation of blood and resolve stagnation if there is no basis of blood stagnation. It is suitable to use herbs according to differentiation.
