Shang han lun (Treatise on Febrile Diseases) is one component part of Treatise on Febrile Miscellaneous Diseases. Shang han lun was written by Zhang Zhongjing from East Han Dynasty. Treatise on Febrile Diseases is first book including theories and herbal formulas together in China, it is classic book with brilliant achievements and important value in development history of Traditional Chinese medicine. Shang han lun (Treatise on Febrile Diseases) systematically introduced regular pattern of diagnosis for febrile diseases due to invasion of exogenous pathogenic factors and some miscellaneous diseases, developed theoretical system of differentiation due to six meridians and laid foundation of treatment according to differentiation in TCM after the other two classic books: Canon of Medicine and A Classic of Difficult Questions. “Huang Di Nei Jing†said: "The febrile diseases are all belong to Shang Han.†"Treatise of Febrile Diseases" discusses the febrile exogenous illness which caused by wind and cold evil. The exogenous shown as the main symptoms are febrile or fever. So that’s why Shang Han Lun has been translated into “Treatise of Febrile Diseases.â€
