Pediatrics


There are 39 cases of common cold, 31 cases of tonsillitis, 15 cases of pharyngitis, 17 cases of tracheitis, 9 cases of pneumonia and 23 cases of respiratory tract infection in these 134 cases. 49 cases are followed with fever, 37 cases are followed with wheezing and asthma, 14 cases are followed with emptysis or epistaxis, and 22 cases are followed with food retention. Differentiation: 38 cases are cough of pathogenic wind cold, 55 cases are cough of pathogenic heat wind, 21 cases are cough of pathogenic wind dryness, and 20 cases are cough of phlegm heat. Treatments: apply Yu Ke Tang (Jing Jie, Ge Gen, Chan Tui, Bo He, Qian Hu, Xing Ren, Da Bei Mu, Jie Geng and Gan Cao) with modification according to the syndromes. Add prepared Ma Huang and Fang Feng for cough of pathogenic wind cold; subtract Jing Jie and add Lian Qiao, Sang Ye and Ju Hua for cough of pathogenic heat wind; add Sha Shen and Bai He for cough of pathogenic wind dryness; add Huang Qin, Di Ding and Sang Bai Pi for cough of phlegm heat. Add Chai Hu, Sheng Shi Gao and Lu Gen for fever; add Niu Bang Zi, Xuan Shen and Shan Dou Gen for throat swelling; add prepared Ma Huang and Di Long for wheeze; add Bai Mao Gen and Ou Jie for emptysis or epistaxis; add Jiao San Xian and Lai Fu Zi for food retention.

Results: the total effective rate is 85.07%.
