Dispel Wind & Stop Tremors

1 TASTE
Salty and cold


2 MERIDIANS
Liver, spleen and urinary bladder


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To clear heat and subdue endogenous wind; 2. To soothe asthma; 3. To promote urination; 4.To the collaterals.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Convulsions and spasms due to high fever, Earthworm (Di Long) is used with Uncaria stem (Gou Teng), White-stiff silkworm (Baijiangcan) and Scorpion (Quan Xie).2. Damp-heat obstruction syndrome manifested as red, swollen, painful joints and motor impairment. Earthworm (Dilong) is used with Mulberry twigs (Sang Zhi), Honeysuckle stem (Rendongteng) and Red peony (Chi Shao).3. Wind-cold-damp obstruction syndrome manifested as cold, painful joints with motor (Caowu) and Arisaema tuber (Tian Nan Xing) in the formula Xiao Hulou Dan.4. Hemiplegia due to obstruction of meridians by qi deficiency and blood stagnation. Earthworm (Dilong) is used with Chinese angelica root (Dang Gui), Chuan Xiong rhizome (Chuanxiong) and Astraglaus root (Huang Qi) in the formula Buyang Hunanwu Tang.5. Heat accumulated in the urinary bladder manifested as dysuria. Earthworm (Dilong ) is used with Plantain seed (Che Qian Zi) and Clematis stem (Mu Tong).6. Asthma. Earthworm (Dilong) is used with Ephedra (Ma Huang) and Apricot seed (Xing Ren).


5 DOSAGE
5-15 g (10-20 g if fresh)
