We used Qin Lian Si Wu Tang with modification on treatment of 22 cases of uterine fibroids and got credible effect. All the patients suffered with uterine fibroids with the minimum size as walnut, the maximum size as 3 months of pregnancy, all of them have irregular uterine bleeding, 14 cases felt falling pain on lumbar and abdominal region. Treatment method: clearing heat and drying damp, nourishing and harmonizing blood, regulating Chong and Ren meridians. Prescription: Huang Qin, Huang Lian, Sheng Di Huang, Bai Shao Yao, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong. Modification according to syndrome: adding Xuan Shen, Mai Men Dong, Han Lian Cao if there is evident yin deficiency; adding Chai Hu, Jing Jie if there is noticeable cold-damp; adding Chuan Duan, Tu Si Zi, Shu Di Huang, Shi Lian if there is obvious kidney deficiency; removing Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong and adding Di Gu Pi, Qing Hao, Chun Gen Bai Pi, Wu Zei Gu, Sheng Mu Li if there is large amount of bleeding; adding Ce Bai Tan, Zong Lu Tan, Guan Zhong Tan, E Jiao if there is ceaseless bleeding; adding Sang Ye, Ju Hua, Nu Zhen Zi, Han Lian Cao if there are dizziness, headache due to obvious excessive function of liver; adding Tai Zi Shen, Shan Yao, Lian Zi Rou, Bai Zhu if there is evident spleen deficiency; adding Qu Mai, Che Qian Zi, Mu Tong if there is downward flow of damp-heat; adding Chuan Lian Zi, Yan Hu Suo, Xiang Fu if there is obvious pain.
Treatment result: 22 cases with irregular uterine bleeding have been controlled. 18 cases did not have progress, 4 cases were found uterine fibroids reduced.
