Type 1: Deficiency syndrome
Symptoms:
Slow onset. At the initial stage of the disease, only feeling of bearing-down and distension in the anus when defecation, slight prolaps of themucosa, which can return to the anus after defecation. If it is not treated immediately, prolaps of rectum will attack by slight tiredness, become more excessive and can not return to the anus unless the rectum is pushed. Sallow complexion, lassitude, palpitation, dizziness, thin and white tongue coating, soft floating and small pulse.
Principle of treatment:
Invigorating and elevating qi and inducing astringency. Select points of Du Meridian and the Bladder Meridian of foot-Taiyang. Needling with reinforcing method.
Prescription:
Baihui (GV20) (DU20), Changqiang (GV1) Luo-Connecting Point (DU1), ZDachangshu (Dachangshu (BL25)) and Chengshan (BL57) (Chengshan (BL57)).
Modification according to symptoms:
Qihai (CV6) (RN6), Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point (Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point) and Pishu (BL20) (Pishu (BL20)) are added.
Type 2: Sthenia syndrome
Symptoms:
Frequently occuring in acute stage of dysentery and inflammation of hemorrhoid. Feeling bearing-down and distension in the anus before defecation. Exertion of one's strength to have a bowel movement, relieving the difficulty in defecation, may result in prolaps of rectum, accompanied by redness and swelling in local part with burning sensation, pain and itching.
Principle of treatment:
Clearing pathogenic heat and removing pathogenic dampness. Select points of Du Meridian and Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang. Needling with reducing method.
Prescription:
Baihui (DU20), Changqiang (DU1), Dachangshu (BL25) (BL25) and Chengshan (BL57).
Modification according to symptoms:
For the excessive cases, Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point) and Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point (Yinlingquan (SP9) He-Sea Point) are added.
Cautions and precautions:
For repeated prolaps of rectum causing local inflammation and ulcer, washing drug therapy and topical application of drug therapy are used.
