Calm the Spirit

1 TASTE
Sweet, astringent and slightly cold


2 MERIDIANS
Heart and liver


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To pacify the liver and subdue the yang; 2 .To calm the heart and soothe the mind; 3. To relieve leukorrhea and arrest seminal emissions of sweating.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Deficient yin of the liver and kidneys with hyperactive yang of the liver manifested as dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision or irritability. Dragon bone (Long Gu) is used with Oyster shell (Mu Li), Red ocher (Daizheeshi) and White peony root (Bai Shao) in the formula Zhengan Xifeng Tang.2. Seminal emissions due to deficient kidneys. Dragon bone (Longgu) is used with Oyster shell (Muli), Flattened milkvetch seed (Sha Yuan Zi) and Euryale seed (Qian Shi).3. Palpitations and insomnia. Dragon bone (Longgu) is used with Oyster shell (Muli), Polygala root (Yuan Zhi) and Wild jujube seed (Suan Zao Ren).4. Leukorrhea due to deficient kidneys. Dragon bone (Longgu) is used with Oyster (Muli), Dioscorea (Shan Yao) and Cuttlefish bone (Wu Zei Gu).5. Spontaneous sweating and night sweating. Dragon bone (Longgu) is used with Oyster shell (Muli) and Schisandra fruit (Wu Wei Zi).


5 DOSAGE
15-30 g


6 COUTIONS
This herb should be cooked before adding other herbs.
