The deficiency of healthy Qi, the spleen-kidney deficiency and consumption are the inner etiological factor of liver cancer. Liver cancer belongs to chronic consumptions, during its occurrence and development, Yin and Yang are unbalanced, the Qi is consumed and the blood is damaged, the spleen Qi deficiency certainly exists, kidney Yin deficiency, healthy Qi is so weak that cannot to oppose pathogenic factors, thus, a vicious circle is formed, the liver cancer is not able to be healed. In the initial stages, the treatment is soothing liver and regulating Qi, promoting blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis, strengthening the spleen and stomach, then, the digestion and absorption can be remained normal. The prescription use Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang decoction or Bie Jia Jian Pills, combining Liu Jun Zi Tang decoction. In the advanced stage, the pathology is mainly asthenia and stasis of healthy energy, which include Yin deficiency type (liver kidney Yin deficiency or Qi and Yin deficiency) and Yang deficiency type (spleen kidney Yang deficiency). The Yin deficiency type can be treated by Liu Wei Di Huang Wan Pills or Yi Guan Jian decoction and Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang decoction with modification. Yang deficiency type, we should warm and reinforce spleen and kidney, promote Qi and move Qi, the prescription is Ji Sheng Shen Qi Pills combining Wu Ling San granule.
