Regulate Blood

1 TASTE
Salty, cold and slightly toxic


2 MERIDIANS
Liver


3 FUNCTIONS
To invigorate blood and remove stagnation


4 INDICATIONS
1.Amemorrhea or postpartum abdominal pain due to blood stagnation. Cockroach (Zhe Chong) is used with Rhubarb (Dahunag) and Peach seed (Taorem) in the formula Xia Yuxue Tang.2.Abdominal or epigastric masses. Cockroach (Zhechong) is used with Turtle shell (Bie Jia), Rhubarb (Da Huang), Moutan bark (Mu Dan Pi) and Peach seed (Tao Ren) in the formula Biejia Jina Wan.3. Pains caused by external injuries or lumbar pain due to sprain. Cockroach (Zhechong) is used with Peach seed (Taoren), Frankincense (Ru Xiang) and Myrrh (Mo Yao). Cockroach (Zhechong) may also be taken alone.


5 DOSAGE
3-10 g; 1-1.5 g for powder


6 COUTIONS
This substance is contraindicated during pregnancy.
