Gynecology and Obstetrics

The gynecopathy is closely related with disorder of Thoroughfare, Conception, Governor and Belt Vessels. Thoroughfare and Conception Vessels are influenced by disharmony of zang-fu, irregular qi and blood, or damaged by physical and chemical factors. In clinic, the disease is caused by Extra Meridians are divided into two types.

1. Excess of Extra Meridians: when the disease invades Extra Meridians, the body gets weak, while some excess syndromes are manifested. It is weakness of body and excess of disease.


2. Deficiency of Extra Meridians: it is common seen in clinic. Deficiency of Eight Meridians can not be treated by animal-based drugs for tonifying and difficult to be cured.
   Cai Lao Si Wu Tang is the key prescription for blood. For abdominal pain in during menstruation, Si Wu Tang added with Jin Ling Zi San and Shi Xiao San is applied to promote blood stasis circulation and relieve pain; Xiang Fu, Wu Yao, Qing Pi and Mu Xiang are added to regulate and promote qi circulation; for irregular menstruation, Chai Hu, Zhi Zi Hua and Mu Dan Pi are added; for damage of both spleen and stomach, Ba Zhen Tang is applied which made of Si Wu Tang Si and Jun Zi Tang; for both qi and blood deficiency, Shi Quan Da Bu Tang added with Huang Qi and Gui Rou is applied; for eruption during menstruation, Si Wu Tang added with Ren Shen, Huang Qi, Jing Jie, Fang Feng, Chan Tui and Tao Ren is applied to noursh blood, benefit qi, disperse wind and eliminate stasis; for common cold due to excess heat in blood during menstruation, Si Wu Tang combining with Xiao Chai Hu is applied to harmonize and release Shaoyang meridians to regulate and tonify Thoroughfare and Conception Vessels.
   Si Wu Zei Gu Yi Lu Ru Wan comes from internal meridian, composed by Hai Piao Ling, and it functions on opening and astringency. Ancient medical scholars of past dynasties considered the formula as the first choice for gynecopathy. Qing Dai Tang is the specific prescription for leucorrhea, composed by this formula, Long Gu, Mu Li and Huai Shan Yao to consolidate collapse; in clinic, the herbs warm in nature are added for cold symptoms, and the herbs cold in nature are added for warm symptoms. An Chong Tang is composed by this formula with Bai Zhu, raw Huang Qi, raw Long Gu, Mu Li, raw Di Huang, raw Bai Shao and Duan Xu, and it is used for disorder of Thoroughfare and Conception Vessels, menorrhagia, overlong duration of menstruation, or metrostaxis; Gu Chong Tang is composed by this formula with Bai Zhu, raw Huang Qi, raw Long Gu, Mu Li, Shan Zhu Yu, Zong Lu Tan and Wu Bei Zi; it functions on tonifying and stopping blood and is used for metrorrhagia due to unconsolidation of Thoroughfare and Conception Vessels. Besides, Li Chong Tang (raw Huang Qi, Dang Shen, Bai Zhu, Shan Yao, Tian Hua Fen, Zhi Mu, San Leng, E Zhu and Ji Nei Jin) is used for treating deficiency and coldness of blood of females. For amenorrhea or postpartum lochiorrhagia, Wen Chong Tang(Shan Yao, Dang Gui, Fu Zi, Rou Gui, Bu Gu Zhi, Xiao Hui Xiang, He Tao Ren, Zi Shi Ying and Lu Jiao Jiao) is effective on deficiency and coldness of blood syndrome.
