Regulate Qi

1 TASTE
Sour, astringent and neutral


2 MERIDIANS
Liver and stomach


3 FUNCTIONS
1. To promote the free flow of qi in the liver and reduce stagnation; 2. To regulate qi and harmonize the stomach


4 INDICATIONS
1. Qi stagnation in thd liver and stomach manifested as distension and pain in thd hypochondriac regions, belching and epigastric pain. Mume flower (Lu E Mei) is used with Bupleurum root (Chai Hu), Cyperus tuber (Xiang Fu), Green tangerine peel (Qing Pi) and Costus root (Mu Xiang).2. Phlegm and qi stagnated in the throat (globus hystericus) manifested as the sensation of a foreign body in the throat, Mume flower (Luemei) is used with Trichosanthes peel (Gulaoupi), Tangerine peel (Chen Pi), Mulberry bark (Sang Bai Pi), Albizia bark (Hehuapi) and Perilla leaf (Zi Su Ye).

3-6 g
