Urethral Syndrome (US) indicates the main syndromes of lower urinary tract irritation symptom that consists of frequent micturition, urgency of urination, urination difficulty, but no structural pathological change of bladder and urethra, no obvious bacteriuria, it often occurs among young women, and is called female urethral syndrome (FUS). The effect of acupuncture on US is validated.

There are 91 female patients come from Shanghai TCM university affiliated Yue Yang hospital of integrated traditional and Western Medicine. The method used is random number table method, in which the odd number is for Huiyang (BL35) group, the even is for Huantiao (GB30 ) group, 46 patients are classified to BL35 group, and 45 patients are classified to GB30 group. The BL35 and GB30 are needled respectively in BL35 group and GB30 group, the effect is evaluated after 3 times of needling.

Result: in BL35 group, after 3 times of treatment, there exists evident improvement in bladder capacity and maximum urinary flow rate. As to GB30 group, the effective bladder capacity is seen an upward trend, but no obvious difference is observed, the maximum urinary flow rate does not alter. Through the analysis of the bladder capacity and the added value of maximum urinary flow rate, it is found that the two values of BL35 group are distinctly greater than that of GB30 group, there is significant difference.
