In order to explore the effective treatment measure for patient who have end-stage renal disease (ESRD) with deficiency syndrome and take maintenance hemodialysis, we randomly divided 97 patients have ESRD and take maintenance hemodialysis into two groups: observation group (51 cases), observation group (46 cases). Both groups are taken west medicine regular treatment, the observation group is conducted mosibustion on Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point, Sanyinjiao (SP6) based on the west medicine method. Comparing the symptoms accumulated score before and after treatment for both groups, the treatment effect is evaluated.
Result: for observation group, the accumulated scores for all the symptoms improved after treatment, the difference has statistical meaning, especially, the symptoms including fatigue, short breath, unwilling to talk, poor appetite, soreness on lumbar region and knees, aversion to cold, cold limbs etc are improved obviously. The total effective rate for observation group is 64.7%, which is better than the 23.9% of contrast group.
Conclusion: the moxibustion may ameliorate the clinical symptoms of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) with maintenance hemodialysis, the method has particular effect for patients with deficiency syndrome.
