Both qi and yin deficiency: dry mouth, short breathing, lassitude, poor appetite, abdominal distention, soreness and weakness on the limbs, loose stool or dry stool, low fever, easily common cold, flabby and tender tongue with no coating, superficial pulse or weak pulse when press harder. Treatment principles are to nourish qi and yin. Basic prescription includes Dang Shen, Huang Qin, Sheng Di Huang, Shi Hu, Bai Zhu, Bai Shao, Shan Yao, Nan Bei Sha Shen, Mai Dong, Tian Dong, Mu Dan Pi, Gou Ji Zi, Bian Dou, Xian Mao, Yin Yang Huo, Gan Cao.
