Internal Medicine

There are 90 cases outpatients from Shantou city hospital. All the cases were randomly divided into two groups (60 cases in treatment group). Treatment method: as for treatment group: taking Huo Xue Qu Feng Jian with the ingredients of Chuan Xiong 15-30g, Dang Gui 10-20g, Xi Xin 5g, Wu Gong 2 pieces. Modification according to pain area: adding Gao Ben if there is parietal headache; adding Bai Zhi if there is forehead pain; adding Bai Shao Yao, Bai Zhi, Bai Jie Zi if there is both side of head pain; adding Chao Hu if there is single side of head pain; adding Qiang Huo if there is occiput pain; adding Jiang Can, raw Shi Gao if there is facial pain; adding Ju Hua, Cang Er Zi if there is hot-pain of head; adding Bai Zhi if there is cold-pain of head; the dosage of Dang Gui should be larger than Chuan Xiong for female patients who have headache during menstruation. 2 decoctions per day, decocting for 2 times, taking in the morning and evening respectively. As to contrast group: taking flunarizine hydrochloride capsules, 10mg before sleep each day.

Treatment result: the total effective rate is 93.33% and 76.67% in treatment group and contrast group respectively.
