Catgut Embedding Therapy in Acupoint for treatment of Irritable Bowel SyndromePosted by: admin on Jan 31, 2009 - 01:27 AMIrritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional bowel disorder which is characterized by the changing of common intestinal motor function and the increasing of visceral sensitivity. 32 cases in this group are all out-patients. Treatment methods: (1) Spleen deficiency with damp-heat stagnate intestine type selection: Pishu (BL20), Fenglong (ST40) Luo-Connecting Point, Shenshu (BL23), Shangjuxu (ST37) The Lower He-Sea Point of the Large Intestine, Xiajuxu (ST39) The Lower He-Sea Point of the Small Intestine, Dachangshu (BL25), Tianshu (ST25) Front-Mu Point of the Large Intestine. (2) Spleen and kidney yang-deficiency type selection: BL23, ST37, Guanyuanshu (BL26), Sanyinjiao (SP6), BL20, and ST25. (3)Liver and spleen disharmony type selection: BL20, ST40, Ganshu (BL18), ST25, BL25, and Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon. Using 2~3cm No.3 catgut embeds at the acupoint in subcutaneous tissue or muscle. Choose four points each time, take three weeks interval, 3 times as one treatment course. Therapeutic effect: the effective rate is 100%.
