37 Cases of Treatment on Secondary Epilepsy of Stroke given by Ling Yi San combining with Ding Xian WanPosted by: admin on Aug 10, 2008 - 01:56 AMThere are 37 cases in this group, including 13 cases with the symptoms of sudden faint, stiffness on nape-back, four limbs spasm, saliva during comprehensive outbreak; 10 cases with the symptoms of no spasm, staring eyes, no response when calling; 14 cases with the symptoms of only partial spasm in mouth, eyes and hands; 2 cases with the symptoms of happening 1-3 times one day; 15 case with outbreak of 1 time during 2-5 days; 20 cases with outbreak of 1 time during 6-15 days. All the cases with duration of 3 minutes when outbreak. All 37 patients have dysfunction of limbs and partial talk dysfunction in different degree. Within 37 patients there are 13 patients have encephalorrhagia, 10 patients have cerebral thrombosis, 14 patients have cerebral embolism. All the patients were diagnosed by examination of CT, MRI. All the patients took self built Ling Yi San with ingredients of Lu Rong, Quan Xie, Di Long, Chan Tui, Shui Zhi, Ma Huang, Bing Pian, Ma Qian Zi, etc. Ling Yi San combining with Ding Xian Wan with modification: Tian Ma, Jiang Can, Shi Chuang Pu, Dan Nan Xing, Fa Ban Xia, raw Huang Qi, taking Ling Yi San with the decoction of above prescription. Adding Zhen Zhu Fen if there is frequently occurrence of twitch; adding Bai Zhu and Fu Shen if there is heart-spleen deficiency; adding Bai Jie Zi if there is wind-phlegm obstruction in orifice; adding Shan Zhu Yu if there is liver-kidney deficiency. 32 Days is one course, please stop to take prescription for 3 days after every course. Treatment result: in the early stage of secondary epilepsy of stroke, the effective rate is 94.59%. The effective rate for stroke sequela is 86.48%. The longest treatment period is 12 courses, the shortest treatment period is 3 course. For most of the cases, the treatment period is 6-8 courses.
