Urine Bladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-short peroneal muscle-soleus muscle-long flexor muscle of great toe.
In the superficial layer, there are the small nerve and small saphenous vein. In the deep layer, there are the branches of the tibial nerve and muscular braches of the posterior tibial artery and vein.


Location:
Sit upright, hang down two shanks, with two feet touching the ground; 3 cun vertically above KunlunBL60(Kunlun (BL60) Jing-River Point) which is situated at the midpoint of the line connecting the tip of lateral malleolus and achilles tendon.
Function:
Relaxing the muscles and tendons, reducing heat, strengthening the waist and knee, and tranquilizing the wind.


Indications:
Systremma, pain in the waist and legs, paralysis of the lower limbs, facial paralysis, trigeminal neiralgia, and swelling of the knee joint.


Prescription:
Combined use with FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)) for treatment of headache;with HuantiaoGB30 (Huantiao (GB30 )) for paralysis of the lower limbs; and with TianjingTE10 (Tianjing (TE10)) for treatment of clonic convulsions.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating toward the foot; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
