Internal Medicine

Cerebral arteriosclerosis is a common and frequent disease with high incidence. It often happens on the middle aged and elderly people. The main clinical syndromes are dizziness, headache, numbness of limbs, etc. the mild one affects work and study while the severe one endangers the life due to the complicated cerebrovascular accident.


The 156 cases in this group are in-patients and out-patients. The main prescription of Yi Shen Ning Nao Tang (self-made): Sheng Di Huang, Dan Shen, Huai Shan Yao, Shan Zhu Yu, Dan Pi, Ze Xie, Fu Ling, Chuan Xiong, Shan Zha, Zhi He Shou Wu, Nu Zhen Zi, Huang Jing, Gou Qi, Tu Si Zi. The modification: Dang Shen and Huang Qi can be added for fatigue and weakness of both feet; Suan Zao Ren, Zhen Zhu Mu and Ye Jiao Teng can be added for insomnia and dreaminess; Tian Ma, Di Long and Xi Qian Cao can be added for numbness of limbs; Gou Teng and Huai Niu Xi can be added for hypertension; Xuan Shen and Huo Ma Ren can be added for dry stools. Administration: one dose a day, and be decocted twice, and be taken at 10:00am and 4:00pm, 20-day treatment is one course.


Treatment results: The total effective rate is 94.9%.
