58 Cases of Facial Paralysis Treated with Jia Wei Qian Zheng San [1]

All these patients are out-patients. The disease courses of 49 cases last for 1-25 days, that of 8 cases last for 1-6 months and that of 1 case last for above 7 months. Treatments: raw Huang Qi [3] 60g, Bai Zhu [4] 10g, Bai Fu Zi [5] 10g, Jiang Can [6] 10g, prepared Ban Xia [7] 10g, Bai Jie Zi [8] 20g, Di Long [9] 10g, and Ge Gen [10] 30g. Modification: for dizziness, and distending pain, Man Jing Zi [11] and Bai Zhi [12] are added; for dry stools due to excess of heat, raw Da Huang [13] is added; for aversion to wind, Xin Xi is added. Results: the total effect is 96.55%.
