Gallbladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-epicranial aponeurosis-loose connective tissue below aponeurosis.
There are the greater occipital nerve and the branches of the occipital artery and vein in this area.


Location:
Sit upright with one's back propped; on the line connecting ToulinqiGB15(Toulinqi (GB15))and FengchiGB20(Fengchi (GB20)), 4 cun into the anterior hairline, at the same level with TongtianBL7(Tongtian (BL7)).
Function:
Refreshing oneself, improving eyesight, and removing wind and clearing heat.


Indications:
Headache, vertigo, epistaxis, and rhinorrhea.


Prescription:
Combined use with FengchiGB20 (GB20) for treatment of headache; and with TinghuiGB2 (Tinghui (GB2)) for treatment of deafness and tinnitus.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.3-0.5 cun depth; needling response: local sensation of numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
