Gallbladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-epicranial aponeurosis-loose connective tissue below aponeurosis.
There are the supraorbital nerve and the supraorbital artery and vein in this area.


Location:
Sit upright with one's back propped; on the vertical line passing through the pupil, 0.5 cun into the anterior hairline. Or, midpoint of the line connecting TouweiST8( Touwei (ST8)) and ShentingGV24(Shenting (GV24)).
Function:
Refreshing oneself, inducing resuscitation, and soothing the chest oppression.


Indications:
Headache, vertigo, lacrimation, pain in the outer canthus, rhinorrhea, and nasal obstruction.


Prescription:
Combined use with HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of headache; with ChengqiST1 (Chengqi (ST1)) for treatment of myopia; and with JinmenBL63 (Jinmen (BL63) Xi-Cleft Point) and HeguLI4 (LI4) for treatment of
deafness.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.3-0.3 cun depth; needling response: local sensation of numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5 min.
