Abnormal sensation in the throat refers to obstructed sensation, itching sensation, tense sensation, sticky sensation, burning sensation, ants walking sensation, the swallowing obstruction feeling without difficulty swallowing, and breathing difficulty feeling, etc. Abnormal sensation in throat can be caused by organic diseases but mostly by dysfunctional diseases. Followings are treatment according to differentiation:
(1) Excessive heat in upper jiao: It includes chronic pharyngitis, chronic tonsillitis, tonsil enlargement, sinusitis etc. Prescription: Jie Geng, Pi Pa Ye, Jin Yin Hua, Lian Qiao, Bo He, Huang Qin, raw Di Huang, Bai Zhu.
(2) Dysfunction of qi ascending and descending in middle jiao: It includes diseases in the stomach, esophagus, duodenum, gallbladder and rectum. Prescription: Huang Qi, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Bin Lang, Shan Zha, Zhi Shi, Jie Geng.
(3) Liver qi stagnation: It includes throat neurosis, fear of suffering from cancer, worry etc. Prescription: Xiang Fu, Zhi Shi, Fo Shou, Xiang Yuan, Jie Geng, Dang Gui, Shu Di Huang, Bai Shao.
(4) Obstruction of phlegm: It refers to benign and malignant cancer. Prescription: Jie Geng, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Gua Lou, Bai Hua She She Cao, Ban Xia.
