Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-between tendons of radial flexor muscle of wrist and long abductor muscle of thumb.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous nerve of the forearm, the superficial branches of the radial nerve and the superficial palmar branches of the radial artery. In the deep layer, there are the radial artery and vein.
Location:
Supinated palm; on the first transverse stria of the wrist, where the pulsation of radial artery may be felt.
Function:
Regulating the Qi of lung and promoting blood circulation.
Indications:
Cough, asthma, hemoptysis, pain in the chest and back, abdominal distention, eructation, vomiting, hematemesis; pulseless disease, cardialgia; toothache, headache, pain in supraclavicular fossa, nebula due to eye carbuncule, dryness of throat, inflammation of the throat, hiccup, febrile disease with anhidrosis, dysphoria, heat in the palm, weak and pain in the wrist, etc.
Prescription:
Combined with DazhuiGV14(Dazhui (GV14)) and GaohuangBL43 (Gaohuang (BL43)) for treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis; with NeiguanPC6 (Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point) and SifengEXUE10 (EX-UE10) for treatment of chin cough; with RenyingST9 (Renying (ST9)) for treatment of pulseness disease; with DalingPC7(Daling (PC7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point), DanshuBL19 (Danshu (BL19)), ChizeLU5 (Chize (LU5)He-Sea Point) in acupuncture moxibustion JIanshiPC5 (Jianshi (PC5) Jing-River Point ), YinbaiSP1 (Yinbai(SP1) Jing-Well Point), ZhangmenLR13 (Zhangmen (LR13)Front-Mu Point of the Spleen, Influential Point of Zang Organs) and RuganST18 (Rugen (ST18)) in moxibustion for treatment of neurogenic vomiting.
Methods:
Direction: Puncture perpendicularly; depth: 0.3-0.5 cun; needling response: local sensation of numbness and distention; moxibustion: 3-5 moxa-cones, mild moxibustion for 15 min.
