External Medicine

General data: parotic swelling (acute parotitis) 500 cases, boils and sores ulceration 300 cases, acute sprained ankle 50 cases, intramuscular sclerosis 50 cases, traumatic injury 80 cases, pyogenic infection 100 cases, knee and ankle joints cold-pain due to motorcycle riding 20 cases. Treatment method: herbs: Ren Fa, raw Chuan Wu, raw Di Huang, Bai Ji, Dang Gui, Chuan Shan Jia, Du Huo, Rou Gui, Qiang Huo, Gan Cao, Yuan Shen, Bai Zhi, raw Cao Wu, Bai Ji, Mu Bie Zi, Da Huang, Chi Shao, Ku Shen, Wu Yao, Jin Yin Hua, Pu Gong Ying, Huang Dan, Xiang You (balsam), a piece of dry peach tree branch.

The exterior applied ointment making method: except Huang Dan, all the herbs are put into balsam for 24 hours, then, the balsam and herbs are put in iron boiler for decocting with slow fire until the herbs’ color become scorch and a bit black from yellow, the herbs float in the surface of balsam, the herbs and balsam should be divided after that, then, adding Huang Dan when the herbal balsam is boiled with slow fire, at that time, the herbal balsam change from black to red and then to black, boiling the herbal balsam with slow fire continually until the herbal balsam become to drop when drip it to floor, pouring the balsam to porcelain enamel vessel and the balsam would become cool gradually ( the vessel should has cover so as to avoid the dust drips into it ), spreading out the ointment on pasteboard or white cloth, then is can be used. Attention: using the peach branch stir the decoction continually. Method: dissolving the ointment with slight fire and applying on the affected area, 1 time every 2 days, it is prohibited for pregnant women.
