Dermatology

For the skin diseases, increase the dose of Wu Shao She, Di Long and Tu Bie Chong to dispel wind, open meridians, and activate blood. Skin diseases includes dermatophytosis, urticaria, epispasis and prurigo, etc, caused by deficiency of qi and blood, loosing nourishment in skin and meridians, dryness due to pathogenic wind, and then itching is produced. The remarkable effects will be received by benefiting qi, nourishing blood, opening meridians, activating blood, dispelling wind and relieving itching. Prescriptions: Wu Shao She 15g, Di Long 15g, Du Bie Chong 15g, Hong Hua 10g, Dang Gui 20g, Huang Qi 50g, Bai Zhu 20g, Fang Feng 15g, Huang Bai 15g, Di Fu Zi 10g, ji Xue Teng 30g and Bai Ji Li 15g. Be decocted for oral taking and applied on the affected region. Modifications: for excess damp heat manifesting skin swelling and obvious macula, add Huang Qin, Huang Lian, Yin Hua and Lian Qiao to clear away heat and toxins.  For yang deficiency manifesting white rash, out breaking when get cold, subtract Huang Bai, and add Rou Gui, Fu Zi and Yin Yang Huo to tonify kidney and strengthen yang; for blood deficiency, manifesting dry and scaly, server itching, add prepared Di Huang, Shan Yu Rou, Mai Dong and Xuan Shen to nourish blood; for excess of damp manifesting skin ulceration, add Cang Zhu, Yu Mi, Fu Ling and Bi Xie to benefit water, eliminate damp and turbid.
