Internal Medicine

The author has treated 158 cases of sequela of cerebral infarction with Long Xie Capsule and Pian Tang Fu Zheng Tang, and received satisfying effects. There are 103 cases in treatment group and 55 cases in control group. The past history, concomitant diseases and complications are mainly hypertension, hyperlipemia, coronary heart disease and diabetes. Multiple cerebral infarction (more than two focuses) are common to see according to the CT diagnosis of head in these two groups. Treatments: treatment group: Long Xie Capsule: grid Di Long and Quan Xie into powder and take 4g into the capsule, and make 8 capsules; take in 4 capsules for once, and twice a day. Pian Tan Fu Zheng Tang: Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Chuan Xiong, Chang Pu, Dang Gui, Sang Ji Sheng and Xian Ling Pi. Besides main syndromes (hemiplegia or numbness, deviation of mouth and tongue, tongue stiff, or aphasia), for qi deficiency, add Huang Qi and Bai Zhu; for excess of phlegm and damp, add Chen Pi, Ban Xia, Zhi Shi, prepared Dan Nan Xing and Yu Jin; for blood deficiency, add Sheng Di, Bai Shao and Mai Dong. All the patients above are treated with intravenous drip, Mai Luo Ning. Control group: Pian Tan Fu Zheng Tang, one dose a day, and Mai Luo Ning injection.

Results: the curative rate of treatment group is 49.5% with 92.2% total effective rate; the curative rate of control group is 38.2% with 89.1% total effective rate. The treatment group is more effective than the control group without significant difference.
