Ophthalmology

Tao Hong Si Wu Tang originates from “Yi Zong Jin Jian”, the writer combines the decoction with other herbs for treatment of ophthalmic disease and gets evident effect.

1. Combining with herbs with function of clearing heat and expelling wind for treatment of traumatic inflammation of the iris. Prescription: Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Chuan Xiong, Chi Shao, Bai Shao, Dang Gui, Dan Pi, Gan Cao, Ju Hua, Xia Ku Cao, Pu Gong Ying, Chan Tui, Man Jing Zi, Che Qian Zi.
2. Combining with herbs with function of clearing liver and removing corneal opacity for treatment of viral keratitis. Prescription: Long Dan Cao, Zhi Zi, Huang Qin, Chai Hu, Che Qian Zi, Mu Tong, Gan Cao, Fang Feng, Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Dang Gui, Sheng Di Huang, Chi Shao, Bai Shao, Chuan Xiong, Ban Lan Gen, Bai Ji Li, Chan Tui.
3. Combining with herbs with function of reinforcing liver-kidney and excreting water-damp for treatment of center retinitis. Prescription: Gou Qi Zi, Ju Hua, Bai Ji Li, Ze Xie, Fu Ling, Nu Zhen Zi, Sheng Di Huang, Che Qian Zi, Gan Cao, Chuan Xiong, Hong Hua.
4. Combining with herbs with function of nourishing Yin and promoting eyes for treatment of age-related macular degeneration. Prescription: Gou Qi Zi, Ju Hua, Fu Ling, Shu Di Huang, Shan Yao, Ze Xie, Shan Zhu Yu, Dan Shen, Dan Pi, Hong Hua.
