Gynecology and Obstetrics

1. Liver stasis and qi stagnation: clinical symptoms including distention and fullness sensation on chest and hypochondrium, bitter taste in the mouth, pain and distention sensation on abdomen, the clots are not hard, pain without fixed position, normal tongue with thin white coating, taut pulse. Treatment method: promoting qi circulation, dispersing stasis and stagnation. Prescription including Chuan Lian Zi, Yuan Hu, Chen Pi, Xiang Fu, Wu Yao, Chuan Niu Xi, Dang Gui, Chi Shao.


2. Blood stagnation due to cold invasion: clinical symptoms including aversion to cold, cold limbs, cold sensation on hands and feet, hard clots in abdomen, pain refused by pressing, dark tongue, large amount of menses, prolonged menstruation, petechia on tongue margin, deep and hesitant pulse. Treatment method: warming menstruation and dispersing cold, promoting blood circulation by removing stasis. Prescription ingredients: Gui Zhi, Niu Xi, Xiao Hui Xiang, Wu Yao, E Zhu, Chi Shao Yao, San Leng, Fu Ling.


3. Deficiency of qi-blood and blood stagnation: clinical symptoms including dizziness, fatigue, pale tongue, abdominal pain aversion to pressing, small amount of menstruation with pale color, irregular menstruation, pale tongue, taut thready tongue without strength. Treatment method: reinforcing qi-blood, promoting blood circulation by dispersing stasis. Prescription ingredients: Dang Shen, Huang Qi, Zhi Gan Cao, Shu Di Huang, Dang Gui, Dan Shen, Chen Pi, Fu Ling.


4. Accumulation of phlegm-dampness: clinical symptoms including dizziness, poor appetite, soreness sensation of whole body, large amount of leucorrhea, abdominal pain sometimes severe and sometimes mild, fullness sensation on chest and stomach region, small amount of urine, white greasy tongue coating, dark tongue, slippery pulse. Treatment method: drying dampness and resolving phlegm, breaking stasis and stopping symptoms. Prescription ingredient: Cang Zhu, Bai Zhu, Jv He, Wu Yao, Tao Ren, Ban Xia, Gui Zhi, raw Mu Li.


5. Liver-kidney yin deficiency: clinical symptoms including dizziness, tinnitus, red flashes on both cheeks, soreness sensation on lumbar region and knees, upsetting sensation and irritability, body becoming thin, small amount of menstruation, irregular menstruation, red tongue with scanty coating, taut thready pulse. Treatment method: reinforcing liver-kidney, nourishing yin and dispersing stasis. Prescription ingredient: raw Di Huang, Shu Di Huang, Shan Yu, Shan Yao, Gou Qi, Huai Niu Xi, Long Gu, Mu Li, Xia Ku Cao, Nu Zhen Zi, Bai Shao, Dan Pi.


6. Liver-kidney deficiency: clinical symptoms including dim expression, excessive phlegm and saliva, cold limbs, poor appetite, large amount of leucorrhea, falling sensation on lower abdomen, pale and flabby tongue with white coating, deep thready pulse without strength. Treatment method: tonifying spleen, reinforcing kidney and warming yang. Prescription ingredient: Dang Shen, Huang Qi, Shan Yao ,Shu Di Huang, Fu Ling , Bai Zhu, Chuan Xu Duan, Ba Ji Tian, Chen Pi, ji Xue Teng.
