Adnexitis corresponds with leukorrhea,abdominal pain and fever in the Traditional Chinese medicine category. The Traditional Chinese medicine thinks that fever,abdominal pain and leukorrhea are caused by invasion of pathogen, retention of damp heat, disharmony between ying and wei, and stagnation of both qi and blood.


There are 37 cases of acute adnexitis, and 75 cases of chronic adnexitis in this study. For the acute one, the Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor treats it by clearing heat, removing toxin, eliminating damp and expelling stagnation; the prescription is modification of Long Dan Xie Gan Tang: Long Dan Cao, Xia Ku Cao, Zhi Zi, Huang Bai, Mu Tong, Che Qian Zi (decoct drugs wrapped), Sheng Di Huang, Jin Yin Hua, Pu Gong Ying, Bai Jiang Cao and Yu Xing Cao, be decocted in water for oral dose; and the dregs are applied over the skin of lower abdomen. For the chronic one, it should be treated by activating blood circulation, eliminating stasis, promoting qi and relieve pain; the prescription is modification of Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Chi Shao, Ju He, Li Zhi He, Pao Jiang, Fu Ling, Shan Yao and Gan Cao, be decocted in water for oral dose; and the dregs are applied over the skin of lower abdomen, one a day, half hours for once.


The total effective rate is 95.5%.
