Small Intestine Meridian of Hand-Taiyang

Small Intestine Meridian of Hand-Taiyang starts from the ulnar aspect of the tip of the little finger (Shaoze (SI1) Jing-Well Point (Shaoze (SI1) Jing-Well Point)) and travels along the ulnar border of the hand dorsum upward to the posterior border of the lateral aspect of the upper arm. It passes through the cubital region curving around the scapular region where it meets the DU Meridian at Dazhui (GV14) (DU14). Then turning downward to the supraclavicular fossa, it connects with heart. Alongside the esophagus, it passes through the diaphragm, reaches the stomach and enters the small intestine forming part of its meridian system.

The branch separates from the supraclavicular fossa and ascends to the neck and further up to the cheek. Going through the outer canthus, it turns into the ear (Tinggong (SI19) (Tinggong (SI19))).

Another branch deviates from the cheek. Running upward to the lower border of the infraorbital region, it reaches the inner canthus Jingming (BL1) (Jingming (BL1)) to communicate with the Bladder of Foot Taiyang.
 
Pathological changes of SI

Ringing in the ears, yellowish eye coloring, sore throat, swelling and pain under the jaw and in the neck, shoulder and upper external arm pain, abdominal pain and distention, frequent urination, etc.
