Chinese Massage

We treated 50 cases coronary heart disease with massage and observed its effects on the clinical manifestations, left heart functions, electrocardiograms, and blood pressure, blood lipids. Treatment method: Pushing with 1 finger; pushing straightly forward with 5 fingers; pressing and moving to-and-fro; palm-rubbing, and palm-shaking. Massage locations and acupoints: The back, the chest (precordial area), the lower cervical region. Dazhu (BL11) Influential point of bone, Fengmen (BL12), Feishu (BL13), Jueyinshu (BL14), Xinshu (BL15), Dushu (BL16), Danzhong (CV17) Front-Mu Point of the Pericardium, left Rugen (ST18), left Tianchi (PC1), Jiquan (HT1), Tianquan (PC2), Neiguan (PC6) Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point and Daling (PC7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point.


Results and Comments: All 50 cases under observation experienced relief and comfort after the massage therapy. It showed that the massage effectively treated the symptoms of coronary heart disease. It demonstrated that the massage was beneficial for early cases of coronary heart disease in relieving symptoms and improving the left heart functions. The maneuver should be gentle and stable without hard and violent, and the acupoints location should be accurate. The frequency of pushing and rubbing should be like the heart rate, 70-80 times per minute. Besides the instant effects, some patients were treated continuously for 2-3 months with beneficial blood pressure and blood lipids.
