Location:
Stretch the arm and supinate the palm; 2 cun directly above the midpoint of the supinate transverse stria of the wrist ( DalingPC7(Daling (PC7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point) ), between tendons of m. palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis.
Function:
Tonifying the heart to tranquilizing the mind, regulating the function of the stomach to lowering the adverse flow of qi, soothing the chest oppression to regulating qi, and reducing pain.
Indications:
Rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis, endocarditis, epicarditis, angina pectoris, tachycardia, bradycardia, arrhythmia, shock, pulseless disease, hypertension, apoplexy, hemiparalysis, gastritis, gastrospasm, enteritis, dysentery, phrenospasm, vomiting, acute biliary tract disease, epilepsy, hysteria, sleeplessness, asthma, laryngopharyngitis, hyperthyreosis, vascular headache, angitis, and multiple neuritis.
Prescription:
Combined use with ZusanliST36 (Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of shock; with GongsunSP4 (Gongsun (SP4) Luo-Connecting Point, The Eight Confluent Point) for treatment of gastrospasm; with ShenmenHT7 (Shenmen (HT7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Primary Point) for the treatment of arrhythmia; with YujiLU10 (Yuji (LU10) Ying-Spring Point), and ZusanliST36 (ST36) for the treatment of indigestion; and with ZusanliST36 (ST36) and ZhongwanCV12 (Zhongwan (CV12) Front-Mu Point of the Stomach) for the treatment of abdominal pain.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating toward the hand; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
