Clinical Observation on 45 Cases of Type II Diabetes Mellitus Treated by Chinese Herbs [1]

The author has treated 75 cases of type II diabetes mellitus, and does paired observation on both Chinese herbs group and oral glibenclamide group divided at random; the result shows that the total curative effect of Chinese herbs is better than that of glibenclamide group. Treatments: treatment group: raw Di Huang, Shan Yao [3], Xuan Shen [4], Sha Shen [5], Mai Dong, Huang Lian [6], Rou Gui [7], Jin Ying Zi [8], Qian Shi [9], Mu Dan Pi [10], Tian Hua Fen [11] and Ge Gen [12], etc. Add Huang Qin [13] for more thirst; add Shi Gao [14] and Zhi Zi [15] for more huger, add Yi Zhi Ren [16] for more urine, and add Yu Li Ren [17] and Huo Ma Ren [18] For dry stools. Be decocted with water, one dose one day, take it twice a day, and 2 months treatments in total. Control group: glibenclamide, 2.5mg orally, 3 times a day and 2 months treatment in total.

Treatment results: the total effective rate of treatment group is 86.7%, and 70% in the control group with remarkable differences.
