Urine Bladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue- plantar surface of proximal end of little toe.
There are the lateral dorsal curaneous nerve of the foot the tributaries of the arch of the dorsal veins of the foot, and the proper digital plantar arteries and veins in this area.


Location:
Sit upright, hang down two shanks, with two feet touching the ground; at the dorso-ventral boundary and the lateral border of the foot, on the anterior border of the 5th metatarsophalangeal joint.
Function:
Tranquilizing the mind, purging away the heat, and improving acuity of vision.


Indications:
Headache, dizziness, asthma, psychosis, pain in the nape region, chronic gastritis, and dysfunctional uterine bleeding.


Prescription:
Combined use with FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)) for treatment of occipital headache; with DazhuiGV14 (Dazhui (GV14)) for treatment of epilepsy; with JuqueCV14 (Juque (CV14) Front-Mu Point of the Heart), ZhongwanCV12 (Zhongwan (CV12) Front-Mu Point of the Stomach), XinshuBL15 ( Xinshu (BL15)), DanzhongCV17 (Danzhong (CV17) Front-Mu Point of the Pericardium), JiuweiCV15 (Jiuwei (CV15) Luo-Connecting Point) for treatment of precordial pain.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.2-0.3 cun deep; needling response: local distension and pain; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
