Infantile Diarrhea refers to frequent stool with dilute or watery. It is mostly caused by invasion of external pathogenic factors, dysfunction of food intake and weakness of spleen and stomach. It is commonly seen disease especially for infants below 2 years old. We collected 125 cases and randomly divided into treatment group with herbal application on umbilicus for 89 cases and control group with western medicine for 36 cases, then made the observation. Treatment methods: Control group: self-made Xiang Yu Bing Huang San: Xiao Hui Xiang, Wu Zhu Yu, Bing Pian, Da Huang etc. Grind into powder with ratio of 3:3:0.5:1, then mix with light tea water or vinegar into paste, apply on CV 8 (umbilicus), fix with gauze, and take out after six hours. Repeat on second day, three days are one course. Control group: yeast or multienzyme, oral intake of gentamicin, and oral rehydration therapy. Treatment result: total effective rate of treatment group has no significant difference with that of control group, but curative rate of treatment group has significant different with that of control group, it means that herbal external application has obvious good effect to treat infant diseases.
