Ascites due to cirrhosis is common disease in clinic, large amount of ascites is vital threat for life. It is the key point for relieving the suffering of patients as well as reducing the complications that how to resolve the ascites. West medicine usually using replenishing albumin, abdominal puncture in order to discharge the ascites, concentrating the ascites and inputting back to patients, however, it is traumatic operation and the medical price is costly, as well as recrudescing frequently, the treatment effect is not satisfied sometimes. We take the principle of combination of TCM syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation for the treatment of this disease, firstly, the deficiency and excess should be distinguished, expelling evils and reinforcing zheng Qi, excellent clinical efficacy was got.
According to modern medical research, the Da Xian Xiong Tang introduced in this prescription has function of increasing gastric peristalsis and cubage of intestine, increasing the blood flow of intestinal valve. Decreasing the vascular permeability, reducing water absorbance of intestine, assembling the intestinal water in order to reach the function of Diarrhea, the abdominal pressure will reduce after diarrhea, so that the pressure to kidney arterial can be decreased, the kidney blood flow will grow, kidney filtration will increase and the urine amount will rise too. As is reported that Da Huang is usually used for making herbal tea for the function of improving kidney function, treating acute and chronic kidney dysfunction. We use Sheng Da Huang in this prescription for the purpose of increasing discharging function. To sum up, the prescription aims at discharging, therefore, it should not be used hastily, using one prescription every two days until more than half of the ascites is discharged, then, reinforcing genuine qi, regulating spleen-stomach gradually in order to decline the develop speed of disease, so that prolonging the ages.
