Internal Medicine

1. We work in a county hospital as traditional Chinese and western medicine combination for long time. We dominated by western medicine and assisted by Chinese medicine for acute stage of cerebral infarction; dominated by Chinese medicine and assisted by western medicine, coordinated with acupuncture, functional exercise and rehabilitation therapy for recovery and sequelae. We observed that the combinational therapeutic effects are better than the effects of western medicine simply.
2. The treatment characteristics of acute phase infarction: the incidence of acute phase cerebral infarction within the first seven days, the general trend of the disease was aggravated. It is from wind, yang, fire, stagnant heat, blood stasis, toxin, phlegm and damp blocking brain and orifices. It is yang, heat and excess syndrome. The treatment is going to mainly clear heat. The detail principles of treatment are calming liver and extinguishing wind, clearing heat and relieving toxicity, invigorating blood and removing stasis etc. Nasogastric or/and clysis will been applied promptly to ensure the body nutrition on the one hand, set up a way into medicine when there is an unconscious on another hand. We give the patient An Gong Niu Huang Wan 1 pill each time, 3 times per day, to dislodge phlegm and open orifices, drain heat and revive spirit.
3. Hypertension control during infarction acute phase: we believe if the blood pressure does not exceed 180 ~ 160/100mmHg in acute phase, in general antihypertensive drugs will not be applied. Because if the blood pressure of acute phase has been dropped too low, it will further aggravate cerebral ischemia and hypoxia conditions thereby make the disease worse. Especially for someone who has never been used prior, antihypertensive medication should be carefully handled.
4. The application of dehydration and diuretics: local surrounding edema is existence during acute phase of infarction. We must pay attention to the treatment of cerebral edema.
