All these 68 cases of polycystic ovary syndrome are kidney and spleen deficiency, internal stagnation of phlegm, and divided into treatment group and control group at random with 34 cases for each. In the treatment group, apply Bu Shen Jian Pi Tiao Jing Tang (Huang Qi, Dang Shen, Gou Qi Zi, Tu Si Zi, Yin Yang Huo, Rou Cong Rong, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling and Shi Chang Pu), one dose a day, stop taking in menstrual period, 4 weeks treatment is one course, and take in for 4 courses continuously. Observation: (1) the improvement of clinical syndromes. (2) Test contents of endocrine hormone of blood serum in both groups on the 15th day of menstrual cycle before and after the treatment. (3) Test basal body temperature.
Results: the total effective rate is 91.1% in treatment group and 55.8% in control group. Hormone determination: It manifests that Bu Shen Jian Pi Tang functions on regulating endocrine function disorder due to stein-leventhal syndrome. Comparing with the basal body temperature of post-treatment, the basal body temperature turn into normal diphasic curve from mono-phasic curve in treatment group, and most of the patient’s corpus luteums are insufficiency in control group.
