Internal Medicine
The 40 cases of  upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage are observed in this group and all of them are inpatients. There are 8 cases of gastric ulcer hemorrhage, 17 cases of duodenal globular ulcer hemorrhage, 5 cases of acute hemorrhagic gastritis and gastric mucosal lesions. All of them are confirmed by endoscopy. Treatment: prescription: Da Huang, Bai Ji, be grinded into fine powder at the rate of 1:1. 4g for once and oral taking for 3 times a day. Do blood transfusion and infusion solution properly according to patient's conditions without any other hemostatic.
Results: the total effective rate is 95%.
Discussion: Da Huang is bitter and cold in nature with the functions of clearing away heat and fire, detoxication, activating blood and eliminating stasis. Da Huang is containing athraquinones plants, and the hemostatic function has been proved in clinic. Bai Ji is bitter, sweet in taste, astringent and slight cold in nature, with the obvious functions of astringency, hemostasis, eliminating swelling and producing new skins. Bai Ji colloid is the main component part of Bai Ji and can make the injured blood cell of Peipheral Vscular deposit to stop bleeding. Moreover, Bai Ji has high viscosity, and forms protective coating on the bleeding surface to stop bleeding and make the effect in promoting hemostasis. The compatibility of the two medicines above inter-depend on and complement each other.
