Clinical Research on Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B with Sub-clinical Hepatic Encephalopathy given by Modification of Di Tan TangPosted by: admin on Aug 20, 2008 - 12:09 AMSub-clinical Hepatic Encephalopathy (SHE) is hepatocirrhosis which partial clinical symptom and general psychic-nerval function examination are normal but intelligence test and brain evoked potentials are abnormal. Some scholars believe that complete treatment program is the integration of these three aspects including intestinal treatment, liver protection treatment, and centre nerve treatment. And also, current clinical therapy more localizes on intestinal treatment with application of west medicine of lactulose (or Milk pear alcohol), but there is fewer TCM therapy research. Treatment method: we divided the patients to 2 groups according to their odd or even numbers, there are 26 patients in treatment group and 25 patients in contrast group. We use Di Tan Tang with modification in the treatment group. The prescription includes Shi Chang Pu, Yuan Zhi, Fu Ling, Zhi Shi, Dan Nan Xing, Chen Pi, Zhu Ru, Xi Yang Shen, Long Dan Cao, Da Huang. Adding Yin Chen and using large amount of Long Dan Cao if there is yellow-greasy tongue coating; adding Sheng Di Huang, Bai Shao Yao if there is red tongue with a little coating. 1 decoction per day, 15 days are one course, you should generally take 1-4 courses' decoctions. Contrast group: oral taking Danny lactulose 5-10g, 3 times per day. Result: the effective rate is 73.8% in treatment group, 42.3% in contrast group.
