All of these 56 cases are diagnosed by liver function lab test, Hepatitis B five indexes and type-B ultrasonic examination. 41 cases have liver disease history, 6 cases have frequent drinking alcohol history and 9 cases with unknown etiology. Treatments: Huo Xue Jian Pi Li Shui Tang: Dang Gui, Bai Shao, Dan Shen, Tao Ren, Chi Shao, Haung Qi, Bai Zhu, Yin Chen Hao, Bie Jia, Ze Xie, Che Qian Zi, Dang Shen, Chen Pi, Chai Hu, Fu Ling ang Gan Cao. Modification: increase the dosage of Yin Chen Hao to 30g for severe jaundice; change Dang Shen to Ren Shen and increase the dosage of Haung Qi to 100g for spleen deficiency; add Zhi Ban Xia and Zhu Ru for nausea and vomiting; add Zhu Ling and Da Fu Pi for abundant ascites; add Gou Pu and Zhi Ke for distention of abdomen.
Results: in these 56 cases, 39 cases are cured, 8 cases are obviously improved, 4 cases are improved, 5 cases are failed with 91.1% total effective rate.
