Traumatology and Orthopedics

300 cases of acute lumbar sprain were randomly divided into 2 groups. To compare therapeutic effects of the electro-acupuncture at Houxi (SI3) Shu-Stream Point, The Eight Confluent Point and medicine on acute lumber sprain, 150 in the EA group was treated by EA at SI3 once per day, 3 sessions constituting one course; and another 150 in medicine group was treated by Mobike once per day 7.5mg per time.


Results: For the short-term therapeutic effect, the effective rate was 97.3% in EA group and 89.2% in the medicine group with a very significant difference between the two groups. For long-term therapeutic effect, the effective rate was 99.3% in EA group and 93.2% in the medicine group with a very significant difference between the two groups.
