Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-galea aponeurosis-loose connective tissue below aponeurosis.
There are the supraorbital nerve and the frontal branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein in this area.


Location:
Sit upright with one's back propped; on the vertical line passing through the pupil, 1.5 cun into the anterior hairline, i.e. 1 cun posterior to ToulinqiGB15(Toulinqi (GB15) [3]).
Function:
Refreshing oneself, improving eyesight, and expelling wind and clearing heat.


Indications:
Headache, vertigo, red and painful eyes, and nasal obstruction.


Prescription:
Combined use with YintangEXHN3 (EX-HN3) and HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point [4]) for treatment of rhinitis; with FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20) [5]) and TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) for treatment of glaucoma; with DalingPC7 (Daling (PC7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point [6]), HeguLI4 (LI4), YemenTE2 (Yemen (TE2) Ying-Spring Point [7]), ShangxingGV23 (Shangxing (GV23) [8]), CuanzhuBL2 (Cuanzhu (BL2) [9]), and SizhukongTE23 (Sizhukong (TE23) [10]) for treatment of conjunctival congestion; with TianchongGB9 (Tianchong (GB9) [11]), FengchiGB20 (GB20) for treatment of headache; and with XianguST43 (Xiangu (ST43) Shu-Stream Point [12]) for treatment of swelling of the head and face.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.3-0.5 cun depth; needling response: local numbness and distention; moxibustion: using 3-5, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
