Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-between patellar ligament and medial patellar retinaculum-articular capsule of knee joint and alar folds.
In the superficial layer, there are the infrapatellar branches of the saphenous nerve and the anterior cutaneous branc es of the femoral nerve. In the deep layer, there is the anteriovenous network of the knee joint.


Location:
Flex the knee joints; on the lower border of patella, in the depression of the medial side of patellar ligament.
Function:
Improving the joint movement.


Indications:
Rheumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and paraparesis.


Prescription:
Combined use with LiangqiuST34 (Liangqiu (ST34)), DubiST35 (Dubi (ST35)), YanglingquanGB34 (Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon) for treatment of gonitis; and with WeizhongBL40 (Weizhong (BL40) He-Sea Point, Lower Confluent Point), DubiST35 (ST35) and YaotongdianEXUE7 (EX-UE7) for treatment soft tissues injuries of the knee.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.5-1 cun deep or puncture through DubiST35 (ST35) (moxibustion is contraindicated).
