Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-tendon of quadriceps muscle of thigh.
In the superficial layer, there are the anterior cutaneous branches of the femoral nerve and tributaries of the great saphenous vein. In the deep layer, there is the anteriovenous networkof the knee joint.
Function:
Relieving the disorders of the lower extremities.


Indications:
Knee joint pain, weakness of the leg, and paralysis.


Prescription:
Combined use with XiyanEXLE5 (EX-LE5) and KuanguEXLE1 (EX-LE1) for treatment of gonitis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local soreness and heaviness; moxibustion: using 3-7 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5-15 min.
