Regional Anatomy:
First point: Skin-subcutaneous tissue-tendons of digital extensor muscle and short radial extensor muscle of wrist.
Another point: skin-subcutaneous tissue-between tendons of extensor muscle of little finger ane extensor muscle of the 4th finter.
Th ere the dorsal cenous vetwork of the hand, the dorsal palmar artery, the superficial branches of the radial nerve and the dorsal brabches of the hand from the ulnar nerve in the area of these two points.
Location:
Pronate one`s palm; about at the same level of the midpoint of the line connecting the transverse stria of dorsal wrist and the little head of metacarpal bone, between the 2nd and 3rd, the 4th and 5th metacarpal respectively.
Function:
Dredging the collaterals and promoting resuscitation.
Indications:
Acute lumbar sprain, lumbar muscle strain, carpitis, and infantile convulsions.
Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.3-0.5 cun deep; needling response: local soreness and numbness, or with the sensation radiating toward the tips of the fingers; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5-10 min.
