Acute and chronic hepatitis is a kind of alimentary canal infectious diseases caused by hepatitis virus, it is divided to jaundice and non- jaundice two types in clinic, the main symptoms include fatigue, poor appetite, nausea, aversion to greasy food, abdominal distention, eructation or Diarrhea, most of cases have hepatomegaly, hepatalgia and haphalgesia. Hu Ma Tang includes: Hu Zhang 30g, Ma Bian Cao 15g, Liu Yue Xue 15g, Gan Cao 3g. Adding Yin Chen 15g, Che Qian Cao 9g if there is acute jaundice hepatitis; adding Zi Jin Niu 9g if there is chronic hepatitis; adding Ku Lian Zi 12 pieces, Ren Dong Teng 15g if there is hepatalgia; adding Da Huo Xue 15g, Zi Dan Shen 9g if there is hepatomegaly; adding Fu Shui Cao 9g, Xiao Fu Shen 9g if there is ascites; the dosage mentioned is for adult, the dosage for child and weak patient should be reduced according to the patient’s condition. We used this prescription to treat 200 cases of hepatitis, the effect was obvious, and no side effect was found, the effective rate is 98%.
