In the superficial layer, there are the medial cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the tributaries of the basilic vein. In the deep layer, there are the ulnar artery and vein. Location:Supinate palm; on the radial border of the tendon of ulnar flexor muscle of the wrist, 0.5 cun above the transverse stria of the wrist.Function: Clearing away fever of deficiency type and tranquilizing mind. Indications: Cardiac pain, hysteria, night sweating, hemoptysis, epistaxis, and sudden loss of voice. Prescription: Combined use with ZhongwanCV12 (Zhongwan (CV12) Front-Mu Point of the Stomach) for treatment of gastrelcosis; with YintangEXHN3 (EX-HN3) for treatment of insomnia; with ZhongchongPC9 (Zhongchong (PC9) Jing-Well Point) for treatment of vexation and stiff tongue; with JianshiPC5 (Jianshi (PC5) Jing-River Point), ErjianLI2 (Erjian (LI2) Ying-Spring Point) and LiduiST45 (Lidui (ST45) Jing-Well Point) for treatment of fright, and with YingxiangLI20 (Yingxiang (LI20)) for treatment of epistaxis. Methods: Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: a sensation of distension and numbness which may radiate to the hand; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min. |
