Clinical Research on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Treated by Foot TherapyPosted by: admin on Aug 05, 2009 - 09:27 PM200 cases of chronic fatigue syndrome divided into treatment group and control group. treatment group: the patients soak the feet with warm water (40℃) for 15~20 minutes firstly, and sit on the treatment table. The doctor chooses sitting position and smears the massage cream on foot. Applying whole foot massage, especially thenar massage. Manipulation: (1) feet composite relaxation: rubbing on the dorsum, internal side, external side and thenar of feet with both hand for 3~5 times, keeping slight warm on the skin of feet; grasping and pinching the heels for 3~5 times; holding the upper side of feet, with four fingers forward and thumb backward, and pinching every fingers for 3~5 times; after circular movement of ankle, pushing to the left, right and upper side, and pressing downwards for 2~3 times; knocking on the internal, external, thenar and dorsum of feet. (2) Single reflecting region massage: in order of thenar, internal side, external side and dorsum of feet, massage on the acupoints or reflecting region for around for 5 times, firstly on left and then on right. Selecting on acupoints and reflecting regions: Zhaohai (KI6) The Eihgt Confluent Point, Fuliu(KI7) Jing-River Point, Taibai(SP3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Primary Point, Gongsun (SP4) Luo-Connecting Point, The Eight Confluent Point, Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point, Qiuxu (GB40) Yuan-Primary Point, Taixi(KI3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point, Heart, Liver, Spleen, Kidney, Adrenal gland, Brain, Anmian, Large intestine and Small intestine, etc. Twice two weeks. Control group: oral administration for herbs. Functions: filling up essence, tonifying qi and producing blood. 28 days makes one course in both groups. Results: sore and weak lumburs and knees, headache, dizziness, insomnia, poor memory, depression, irritability, frequent urine, afternoon fever and sweating due to deficiency of both liver and kidney are improved, chronic fatigue and weakness caused by chronic fatigue syndrome are improved and neuropsychiatric symptoms are relieved by foot therapy.
